William Hung once said, "Forrow your dreaaaammssss." Wonderful words of advice from a very wise man who did just that.
This morning I watched a GREAT movie, "Whip It!" The movie is about roller derby and one girl following her dreams and not her mother's. This movie was so fun to watch, but then again it was directed by Drew Barrymore so of course it would be.
I laughed, got goosebumps, and yes, I even cried (no surprise). The movie is full of wonderful one-liners, great acting, and awesome roller derby names (Smashley Simpson, Iron Maiven, Rosa Sparks, etc). I have tried to think of a great roller derby name for myself since watching the movie. The best I could come up with was, "Bear'l o' Sen," Like, "Bear" for Sarebear, and "Sen" for Petersen and together it'd sound like, "Barrel of Sin." Does that sound hardcore? I think so...
Watching the movie also made me remember how awesome I am of a skater. I prefer rollerblading and bought myself a nice cheap pair of "blades" from Target. My roommate and I thought we were hardcore bladers and we'd go to a park and skate around in circles. Once we were brave enough to take the path and had to turn around immediately because there were too many cracks... Maybe this year I'll try practicing a little harder and wear some hardcore uniform that says, "Bear'l o' Sen," on it. I think that'll boost my confidence. Until then, let's get rid of this winter crap and make new lists of our plans for spring/summer.

Dreamer's of Dreams? Really?
So I enjoyed this quote, "We are the makers of music and the dreamers of dreams," until I had the dream I woke up to this morning...
"WHAT? How am I supposed to get home if all the roads are closed down?!?"
Setting: Downtown Sioux City, IA outside the police station and a skywalk
Goal: Get baby (yeah, baby) home safe
Plot: Everyday people are shooting every person around me after they ask them for money.
Here goes:
The earliest part of my dream I can remember is laying in a hospital bed holding a "fresh" baby with no family, friends, or baby daddy around me. I just popped this child out and I am ready to get up and carry on with my day. So, my baby and I use a cheap stroller (same one from the movie 'Away We Go') and go for a walk in the skywalks of Sioux City. I am a new mom, no clue what to do so I just throw this child into the stroller and roll away. I encounter several other mom's with babies in strollers that are happy. I continue to get frustrated because the mom's and their strollers won't share the skywalks so I have to "off-road" with my new "fresh" baby. I think to myself, "why are all these people out here today?" and come to later find out they are all waiting in line to get their baby's pictures taken. I get out of the line and push my baby faster and angrily around these crazy mom's and think to myself again, "I don't need a damn photographer; I'll have Taylor (jared's sister) take photos of me and my baby." I continue to storm past the line full of giddy mom's and stay angry (I just wanted my baby to look out a window).
So, we make it to the window, look out and turn around to head back. On my way out, we take the stairs (stroller and all). Remember how I said this stroller was cheap? Imagine how well the stroller held up after 5 flights of stairs. I took my baby UP 5 flights of stairs and in the process only dropped my baby out once at the top level...no big deal. I get in the elevator and realize my baby is not in the stroller so I used the "hold door" button on the elevator and go in search of my baby. I go back into the stairwell and there it (boy or girl) is lying on the floor at the top of the stairs only crying a little. I just calmly pick the baby up and think to myself, "wow, I really did drop my baby on it's head when he/she was little..." and make my way back to the elevator. Ride DOWN the elevator 5 flights and enter a world of hustle and bustle traffic and construction crews everywhere. Cop cars are everywhere (It was by the police station) and lights are flashing but, none of this seems to affect me and my goal to just go home. I get to my car (1991 Ford Taurus) and realize I have no car seat for this baby...so, instead I have a blue tarp and several seat belts. I sit the baby in the middle of the backseat (remember it's a newborn) and take every seat belt from the backseat and strap them every which way around the baby.
Meanwhile, there are sirens, cop cars, and everyday people running around me. I can hear people shouting, "GIVE ME YOUR MONEY, GIVE ME YOUR MONEY!!" and surprisingly, I stay calm because I realize they're not talking to me. People run up to me and think of shouting it at me but then they see that I'm a new mom so they decide not to take my life (such nice criminals). My car is right in the middle of a crossfire and every once in awhile a cop car will drive through the middle of it but the people pretend they are waiting at bus stops so the cop has no idea what's happening.
I carry about my business and make sure my baby is as safe as it can be so to top it off I take the blue tarp and wrap it around my baby for extra warmth and padding (if we were to get in an accident). I then get into the driver's seat of my Taurus and back into the street (still middle of crossfire) and call my mom to ask if she'll go shopping with me for baby things; she agrees to go with me (thanks, mom). While on the phone my mom informs me of the crossfire happening downtown and that the cops have shut down several roads that I would take to get home. I then scream, "WHAT? How am I supposed to get home if all the roads are closed down?!?" and then I wake up and realize it's all a dream...woot, dodged that bullet (literally).
Where the hell did this dream come from? I can give you one big reason for me having a baby (I hope you enjoy another quick story)...
Baby: Every morning when I wake up from my overnight work shift, my consumer likes to watch the hit TV show, "A Baby Story." While the women are giving birth, my consumer will creepily laugh and look at me and say, "ha, someday that'll be you..." WOAH, please sir, don't EVER think of me having a baby while you are watching some other woman pushing one out! I have strong reason to believe that because I watch this show so much that it is my reasoning behind having a baby.
Sioux City: I am going home this weekend
Criminals: I've been researching criminals lately to help find the missing ISU student (pray for him).
Money: I heard that some woman tried to rob a bank in Ames yesterday and handed the teller a note, "Give me your money."
In conclusion, my dream really made me see what type of mother I would be and realized I should probably wait a few more years before I start popping some babies out...stay safe everyone!!

Hang Onto Your Hats, We're Starting a Blog
Here we go...my first attempt at writing a blog to entertain and inform all of you about my wonderful self.
Currently I live in Ames but am looking/constantly taking up suggestions for places to move. This search has consumed the majority of my life so any/all help will be appreciated.
Things I look for in my new "home":
1) Median income around $5,000 (yes, that's right, I want to live in a ghetto place so I can survive as a middle class individual and afford housing, groceries, and fun)
2) Median Age: 27 or so (want to be the cool age now, but in a few years be old enough to say the, "when I was your age..." stories; also, more activities for young and hip individuals like myself)
3) Beach (must have an ocean nearby so I can sit outside everyday and hope to see a whale, shark, or dolphin)
4) Entertainment (love music and things to keep myself busy with)
5) Cost of Living (cheap, enough said)
6) Low crime rate (everyone knows I'm a worrier and the last thing I need is to be shot by a sniper)
7) Schools (grad school is in my future so moving to a place with my program would be nice)
These are my top priorities in moving so far. Everyday these change and my thoughts become scattered all over again.
Final thought: Currently I am watching the hit TV show COPS. It's a re-run and I have seen it before...does this make me white trash?
